Who is this for, and does age matter?
Great question. While there are no strict age cut-offs, the 2x20 Retreat and Collective are generally focused on the middle to later season of life. What does that even mean? Generally, 40, 50s and 60s. Our inaugural retreat hosted folks between 39 and 69 years young, and the average was mid-50s. But it's more about the moment you’re in, the transition or transformation you seek, and the questions you’re sitting with than age.
Safe bet you’ve accomplished a certain amount, checked many of the boxes you aspired to check, maybe achieved a lot. You may have reached a point of financial freedom, where money is no longer a primary concern or driver for you, or feel like you’re closing in on that threshold. Or, maybe, you still have a way to go, but you’ve hit a point where you’ve realized it can no longer be the center of your decision-making process. It matters, but things like meaning, purpose, mattering, personal and creative expression, connection, and joy need to be a bigger part of your next season of contribution. And, of life.
It’s less about being in a specific age bracket, more about having reached that moment where you realize work, relationships, health, and life need to feel different, and you’re ready to invest yourself in being more intentional about how these qualities unfold, how to craft them with intention, moving forward.

Is this just about work, or finding a new/better job?
We’ll spend time on what we’d call your “central contribution” as you move into the next season of life. For some, that’ll mean a job or even starting a new venture or practice themselves. It could also be about centering things like caretaking, volunteering, or crafting a deeply-nourishing portfolio of pursuits that have nothing to do with a paycheck.
At the same time, nothing happens in a vacuum. Work impacts life, and life impacts work. We like to say, everything affects everything.
For this reason, we expand the lens and explore how to more intentionally integrate all three Good Life Buckets: Vitality (physical, mental, and spiritual wellbeing), Connection (your relationships with yourself, others, and the world around you), and Contribution (here’s where work tends to live). So, while you can, and many will focus more on the work element of this next season, we’ll explore the bigger picture as well.

Is this just about how best to retire?
That depends on what you mean by “retire.” Some may see retirement as the day they stop working for the rest of their lives and move largely into a season of leisure and relaxation. If that’s what feels right for you, that’s great. Zero judgments.
And, as noted above, we take a more expansive look at designing this next season of life. We look beyond your work or primary devotion, or retiring to a life of leisure, and also explore what you want your physical, mental, relational, and spiritual health to look and feel like, along with whatever becomes your central devotion or contribution.

How are the 2x20 Coaching Immersion and 2x20 Retreat different (and can I do both)?
The core models, framework, and approach are the same in both the retreat and coaching immersion. The main difference is that the coaching experience is private, one-to-one, and a blend of in-person and virtual. The kickoff day is in-person in Boulder, Colorado. You’ll learn and do much of the work that happens over 3-days on retreat in a single day. And it will be focused entirely on you, your needs, desires, and vision. This is followed by 3 months of twice-a-month one-hour sessions to support you as you run your 2x20 experiments, learn, grow, adjust course, and start to build the habit of action-taking that leads to lasting change.
The retreat is a very different, standalone experience. You’ll explore the core models, frameworks, tools, and approach in a more expanded, communal way. There’ll be a blend of teaching, solo and interactive exercises, small group work, and sharing and connecting. You’ll also step out of the swirl of everyday life for 3-days at a beautiful destination retreat location that serves as a powerful mind/body reset. And, we also fold in a wide range of fun and empowering group experiences, activities, and conversation prompts that create a powerful and enduring bond, designed to last far beyond the retreat experience, and let you feel like you’re moving forward with a new group of likeminded, wise, big-hearted and supportive community, as you all work to create your 2x20s in parallel.
If you’re thinking, “these both sound incredible!” You’re not wrong, it’s really about which is the best fit for your needs, desires, and interest in community or more individualized learning and support. And, in case you’re curious, YES, can also do both. Though much of the same core info is covered, the experience of working through it individually versus in community can be incredibly complementary. And, you also get the full 3-day destination experience, with many more shared stories and perspectives. If you’re interested in both, reach out at support@goodlifeproject.com, and we can register you at a $1,000 combined discount.

Do you have a refund policy?
Requests for refunds for 2×20 retreats submitted more than 90-days prior to your retreat’s start date will be honored, minus a $150 processing fee. Because of the very limited number of spots available, we are unable to honor requests for refunds made less than 90-days prior to the retreat start date. That said, in the event of a late request (less than 90-days prior), we will make reasonable efforts to fill any late-cancelled spot. If we are able to do so, at that point, we are happy to refund any payments made and release you from any outstanding balance, less a $150 processing fee.
All fees for the 3-month 2x20 Coaching Immersion are pre-paid, and non-refundable. Because of the intimate nature of this experience, we are unable to honor refund requests. That said, in the event of a late request (less than 90-days prior), we will make reasonable efforts to fill any cancelled spot. If we are able to do so, at that point, we are happy to refund any payments made and release any obligations to pay an outstanding balance, less a $150 processing fee.

Why is the coaching immersion 3-months, instead of open-ended coaching?
Honest answer. From a pure “learning tools and content” standpoint, you’ll have everything you need by the end of your in-person kickoff day with Jonathan. It’ll be an intense, yet transformative day.
The three months of coaching that follow are all about supporting consistent action-taking and ideation, guiding you, answering questions, and building the habit of action-taking and momentum as you ideate and implement your 2x20 experiments across four different timeframes.
Three months is about the perfect window to make all of this happen. It’s all about supporting the consistent action needed to build 2x20 experiments into your daily operating system, and make it just “a way of being.
